The Conscience of a Voter"There still is an amazingly large number of US citizens who do not believe that US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright admitted during a CBS Sixty Minutes interview with Leslie Stahl, on May 12,1996, that 500,000 Iraqi children died as a result of US policy. Albright then went on to add that ''...we think the deaths of 500,000 children was worth it...". Any voter who is still in denial, and does not believe that Albright was expressing official US policy, should not vote. Voting for the wrong candidate can be dangerous to children and other civilians around the world. The US has devised all sorts of ways to kill those in other countries. Drones, bombs, and bullets are not the only weapons. Starvation, contaminated water supplies, and destruction of the infrastructure also kill." |

Iraq: Inside the Belly of CIA Beast"What the CIA file documents is the fact that Iraq was ferociously devoured in the belly of the CIA beast not as a country with a dictator as its leader but as a nation which was denied the opportunity to hold its fate in its own hands and get rid of its dictator....The sheer ouster of Saddam Hussein as a dictator barely justifies the innocent blood that was spilled in Iraq and a military invasion of such colossally devastating proportions." |

Islam and the Institution of Slavery"...there are the Quranic teachings based on moral sense of the believer to free those who are under the yoke of bondage. There are instructions to use supererogatory and obligatory alms for freedom of the bonded people." |

Arab American Democrats in Charlotte"This convention will be different. For Arab Americans, with our record breaking numbers, it will represent a "coming of age.” Our hard work and perseverance has brought us from exclusion to being respected and recognized as part of the mainstream of the Democratic Party." |

Half measures, pandering and posturing are the best enemies a fascist could haveDespite the lost opportunities over the last seven years, there is cause for optimism: we at least know that ridding Canada of democratic totalitarianism is not a problem that the mass public can solve. This is an institutional matter that the institution of Parliament can solve, |

The Partisan, Racial and Generational Divide: How We View Arabs and Muslims"The lesson is as clear as it is dangerous. Left unchecked, those who prey on ignorance and fear to spread hatred, and those who sow the seeds of division and intolerance threaten to tear apart the very fabric of our nation and compromise the values of openness and inclusion that have made America united and strong. The purveyors of intolerance also put at risk the rights and security of entire communities of Americans to operate in our society as full and equal citizens without fear of discrimination." |

Master of Mischief"The creeping enlargement of the settlements is reaching a point where every Palestinian village is surrounded by them, making life for the Palestinians intolerable – especially since young settlers carry out almost daily acts of terrorism (so defined by Israeli security officials), physically attacking villagers, burning mosques, houses and cars and felling olive trees." |

NAM: Towards Breaking Western Stranglehold of Power"A new world order is taking shape. In this new world order, imperialism starts to vanish and the idea of mounting military expeditions under the banner of combating terrorism or dictating western democracy soon evaporates. This idea may be a far cry from the reality but it is not an impossibility." |
